Yama : The Japanese Mill worker's village at Port Blakely
The Japanese village of Yama was built along the west side of Tani Creek which flows north into the mill pond at the west end of Blakely Harbor. In this view of Yama the Creek slopes down from the left at a right angle to the row of houses rising up the west bank. The two story building on the left with the narrow white sign board is the Washington Hotel.
