Portrait of George A. Meigs (left) and Henry L. Yesler (right). Both men owned timber mills in the Puget Sound area in the 1800—1900s. George Meigs was the first land owner of Port Madison when he bought a tract of land to build a saw mill in 1854. He also built the town's first store and post office along with homes for his workers.
