Title:
Almojuela Farm
Notes:
Strawberry farmers Thomas and Dorothy Almojuela built this house on 15 acres in 1951. Thomas was born in the Philipines in 1906 and moved to Bainbridge Island in 1932. Initially he farmed in partnership with Felix Almazan. In 1942 he met Dorothy Nahanee a 24—year—old member of the Squamish Nation of British Colombia. Dorothy accompanied her grandmother and other close relations on their annual trip to Bainbridge Island to pick strawberries. Thomas and Dorothy were married in the summer of 1942.
