Inspired by monk Nichidatsu Fujii Guruji‘s visit in 1980, a group of locals took the first steps to create a Peace Pagoda in the Pacific Northwest, located near the Bangor Trident Base. Decades later, after rejections, a fire, and protests, a permit to build the pagoda was finally granted in 2019. Join us to hear why it took nearly 40 years to see this dream become a reality.
