Lincoln's Ladies : Turn of the century fashion photographs

The glass plate negative collection of photographer Charles J. Lincoln

Charles J. Lincoln was born in Massachusetts in 1878. He came to the Seattle region and photographed boats, landscapes, buildings, industrial scenes and people. Many of his subjects were from the Port Blakely area. There is little documentation of his life. He died in 1960 at age 82.

"Lincoln Ladies" is selected from a portion of his work that features models, dancers, friends and relatives, posing in the elaborate fashions of the era. The glass plate format used captured striking detail and there is a modern lifelike beauty preserved in these 100 year old images.
